And such is the grand unveiling of my very first M2F project. Being the silly goose that I am, I forgot to take bodyshop pics of the hair and all its colors, but there are three naturals and three neons. Yay for retexture! Hence, issues. So here’s how to fix it.

1. Remove the downloads folder and make sure it’s not happening with a vanilla game. (Also, make sure you’ve got some time on your hands. This could take awhile.) If it is, get some tech help. If not, it’s time to start the classic filtering.

2. Google and download Delphy’s Download Organizer. If your CC isn’t already subfoldered, use the organizer to help you do that. Put all of your hacks and game mods into a subfolder (or two, if you want them separate).  When that’s done, take out the hacks folder and fire up your game again. Now that all your CC is back in there, you might want to have a good book handy.

3. If the game’s running well without the hacks folder, close your game and open your hacks folder again. Also, open your favorite internet browser.

4. Hacks and mods designed for a particular EP aren’t going to work well unless they’re updated for your new EP. So start hunting down all those game mods and hacks and make sure they’re ALL updated.

5. Done with that? Check your game again. If it’s doing what it’s supposed to, you’re free to play (unless you chose to stay up till 3AM trying to do this, in which case you ought to get some sleep).

Just remember, if you haven’t updated your crap, it’s going to make your game crap until you do! So don’t be lazy. ;]

NOTE: I discovered it was Inteen that was making things screwy. =P Remove all previous versions of Inteen before installing a new EP, and then redownload the version updated for that EP. Otherwise, game implodation will be imminent.

1. Make sure you have a selectable babies hack, or you’ve got some way that your babies are selectable and controllable. Then, before you go into a lot, make sure you put in the boolprop testingCheatsEnabled true cheat.

2. Have someone spawn a Sim Modder (looks like a baby floating in midair).

3. When your baby is born, select them and click on the Sim Modder. Where it says ‘Make me a vampire’ or something along those lines, click it.

4. Your baby will be a vampire, but he will not have any animations with the exception of sunlight allergies until he is a teen. As a child, when his pie menu comes up, he’ll be opening and closing his fanged mouth, like an adult/teen vampire. Child vampires can use coffins, but their animations will look weird and you can’t peek at them.

5. Whether skintone will change to vampire default or not depends on your game. In mine, the vampire skintone did not appear until I used the Modder to try and cure him of vampirism (he was a teen) which obviously didn’t work the first time, lol. When I actually had his mother buy a potion from the gypsy, he was truly cured, finally.

I hope a few people try this! I want to know if this is just my wacky game, or if I’m actually on to something. (Just don’t hit Make A Vampire twice in a row – it DOES work the first time. I think that’s why I had to cure my sim twice. xD)

• your game will not start
• a lot is glitching to the point of being unplayable
• a sim is glitching to the point of being unplayable
• your graphics are horribly borked (flashing red or blue)
• you can’t click on anything without your game crashing
• anything else that hinders your game-playing abilities tenfold

Before you start kicking your computer and bashing things in, go get a nice glass of milk and calm down. Then try these steps to see if you can fix your beloved game.

1. Remove your downloads folder. Tha’s right. Quit the game if you have it running and go pull your downloads folder out of the EA folder. My Documents > EA Games > Sims 2 > Downloads. Then start the game again. If everything is going swimmingly, you know it was a bit of CC you might have in there. Really, I don’t think Maxis intended for us to make so unfathomably MUCH custom content for the game. Something you downloaded might be broken or corrupted, so this is the first step in fixing a broken game.
2. Check your graphics card. If you’ve got just the crappy little one that came with your computer when you first got it, it might be time to change it. That’s probably going to fix your flashing red objects problem.  If it’s flashing blue, there’s a mesh missing somewhere – go find it before putting those things back into your game….unless you LIKE glaring blue windows. O_o But if you’ve messed with the lighting notepad documents at any time, make sure you’ve followed all instructions for deletion/download.
3. Hacks and mods can KILL the game if not used properly. Check Sims Wardrobe (http://www.simwardrobe.com/) for the hack conflict detector.
4. Make sure you haven’t killed Mrs. Crumplebottom. =P
5. Sometimes it can be a case of you not taking care of your Sims 2 disk well. It might be scratched, and there are scratch removal tools out there to help that. You just have to go shopping. :]

In my game she’s a shy Fortune sim, who enjoys spending time alone.

REASONS

• Hacks and mods with the smallest of malfunctions.
• Trying to make the game do too many things at once, like trying to have one Sim go to a community lot and another at the same time go change his appearance. Sims 2 doesn’t like overlapped commands much.
• Relying too much on Insimenator. =p
• Killing Mrs. Crumplebottom. I know she’s a bitch, but she’s like a lifeline for the game to live. Killing her might irreparably damage your game.
• Removing the CD while the game’s running/the computer tower getting borked. Try not to have anything easily spilled nearby (and this goes for computer care in general) and don’t let anyone touch the CD drive.
• Borked lots.
• Corrupted custom content.
• Messing around with NPCs too much

PREVENTION

• If a residential lot/dorm has a HUGE price (like 500,000,000 or something) and a negative number, do NOT click on it. Just delete it and pop it out of your game. I am not sure why this happens, but it might have something to do with expansion packs.
• To be on the safe side, don’t try to download a lot that requires a thousand expansion packs when you only have one or two of what’s needed.
• If you’re using hacks, update them as directed and once again, try not to make the game do too many things at once. Or try to unravel the game’s code, which can never be altered unless someone feels brave enough to work with that crap…
• BE CAREFUL WITH TORRENTS! It’s MUCH safer to buy it than to download it, but it’s your call. Just make sure you know the best places to get it.
• DON’T. KILL. THE CRUMPLEBOTTOM. Squinge has a hack on Insimenator.org to let you get back at her – fighting her, pranking her, whatever. Just don’t kill her!
• Please, don’t screw around with the NPCs. You can’t live with ‘em, but you can literally not live without them. You can give them makeovers (for instance, make the drivers less scary-looking!) and face lifts, but nothing else. Just be safe.

I guess that’s what I was thinking in the eons I’ve been waiting for this hair to be available. :] This is something I’ve been working on since the other day, and I think it turned out kind of nice. Modeling for us today is the lovely Vivi, who gave us a pretty face that I’ve never seen a Sim do. o_O

1. Download Insimenator from http://www.insimenator.org/index.php/board,698.0.html.

2. Go into CAS mode and either create all adult Sims or some teen Sims with one adult.

3. Move them all to a lot and have one of them spawn the Insimenator by clicking on the ground and choosing ‘Spawn’, then ‘Insimenator’. It will look like the virus-maker career reward.

4. There are three sections on the machine – the purple thing, a squat beige colored bowl thingy, and a grey container (lol, I might add screenshots later…). Choose the purple section with any and all adult Sims and look for ‘Select Age’ on the pie menu.

5. Pick an age, any age. I haven’t yet tested to see if the game will let you have all children or all toddlers, but I imagine it won’t, since you are reprimanded for leaving them at home alone even when you’re playing legit. Besides, I don’t think kids can feed/take care of toddlers anyway, so if this worked the only food your tots would get is by any dog bowls you leave lying around. And there’d be lots of poopy diapers. So you could try it, but…remember, you can’t get rid of the social worker. She has mad teleportation skillz.

6. You can do this same thing to make young adults. Now, for the young adults, their college bars will come up, but they will not go to college. Nor will any college options show up. You can use the Education Adjustor or anything else you find in that Spawn pie menu given to you by the Insimenator to choose majors, but they won’t leave the lot. It’s kind of futile to do this anyway; eventually they will automatically pop back to Adults. As if the game is saying, “Hey, what the fuck?!?!” as it realizes the hack. xD

I decided to Nouk that sort-of-new Peggy mesh, and edit out the headbands. I think the result is charming, don’t you agree? The beautiful Ophelia is the model in the picture above, and in the bodyshop pictures below you shall meet Spencer, the pretty teen sim I downloaded at emosims but haven’t gotten around to sticking her in my game yet.
Oh, one other thing that you might find important. There’s a tiny little mesh gap above one of the ears that I was unable
to get rid of. But lucky you, it doesn’t show up in game, just bodyshop. Prolly because the hair is animated and seems to be more poofy.
